Ant infestations are a frequent issue for homeowners and businesses throughout West Michigan, particularly as temperatures begin to rise and colonies become more active. What often starts as a small trail of ants can quickly turn into a larger problem if the source is not properly addressed.
Ants typically enter properties in search of food and water, using small cracks and openings around doors, windows, and foundations. Once they find a reliable source, they create scent trails that allow other ants to follow, which is why activity can increase so rapidly in a short period of time.
Many ant problems originate outside the structure, with colonies forming in soil, landscaping, or near the foundation before eventually moving indoors. Because of this, simply treating the visible ants inside does not resolve the issue long-term. The colony itself must be addressed in order to fully eliminate the infestation.
